We are happy to report that five members of the ECAR team – Ashok Gadgil, Susan Addy, Joyashree Roy, Robert Kostecki, and Case van Genuchten – have won the prestigious Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz 5th International Prize for Water! The prize council, headed by HRH Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, met in Riyadh in late September to confirm the winners, and announced the awards in early October. ECAR was awarded the top honor – the Creativity Prize – for producing “an exemplary work of applied science which runs the complete course from initial research to functioning prototype, while addressing one of the most serious drinking water problems confronting humanity.” More information and the official announcement from the prize committee can be found here.
